Been seeing a lot of chatter lately, especially in the 'Industry News & Regulation' section, about web host terms of service (TOS) updates. It feels like almost every major provider has pushed out something new this past year, and honestly, it's a mixed bag. On one hand, I get it. They need to manage resources, especially with AI tools and more complex sites becoming standard. And for that, some clarity is GOOD. But then you read the fine print... and it's like they're just moving the goalposts. What used to be 'unlimited' is now 'unlimited* with caveats', which is just a fancy way of saying 'limited if you actually use it'. I mean, we've all seen this before. It makes planning for conversion optimization or even site flipping a REAL pain when you can't rely on consistent hosting specs. What if your traffic spikes after a good campaign? Suddenly you're paying HUGE overages or forced to upgrade. Tbh, I think some of these 'updates' are just revenue grabs, plain and simple. It's like the old saying: > 'The big print giveth, and the small print taketh away.' It's just frustrating to see the industry move this way. Makes you really scrutinize those 'deals' now. IMO, we need MORE transparency, not less.
